If we work at it, each of us surely has at least one thing about ourselves that we feel sure we can improve, but we haven’t managed it yet. Something that would improve our lives, that would improve us. I’d like to invite everyone reading this post to take a few moments of reflection to see if they can identify such a desired change in themselves. To those that can, I’d like to offer you the chance to take the plunge and attempt to make that change with some aid from the prayers of members of this community.
There is only one price of admission: whatever you request, you must take concrete actions in the world to increase your chances or rates of success there, for the duration of however long your request stays on the list. Prayers can act as the wind in your sails, but they do little good if you don’t even raise your sails in the first place! Or worse, cast anchor and sit there… or even start rowing your boat in the opposite way…
Besides that one requirement, normal Prayer List FAQ rules apply: requests can be pseudonymous; it’s nice to get regular updates from folks (preferably in the most recent prayer list blog entry); and I hope people receiving prayers will consider praying for at least a few others on the prayer list in some semi-regular fashion, at least for as long as they are on the list. (None of these things are required, though I think it’s nice to do.)
Blessings on all who will have them, and I hope some will join me in this endeavor! I’ll certainly be adding a prayer request along these lines of my own in the near future. Perhaps I’ll see you soon.

Date: 2023-10-17 03:18 pm (UTC)Here is my own submission:
"May Quin improve his skill at discerning his priorities, may he strengthen his inclination toward worthy actions, and may he increase his focus and follow-through in these pursuits."
Given that the "price" of this "Autumn Special" is taking positive actions in the same direction as these prayers, I will post an update in a couple of weeks to report on my progress, either in here or in a follow up post.

Date: 2023-10-18 03:33 am (UTC)I would like to request the following:
"May ARS lose his fear, shame and anxiety stemming from his past, particularly his childhood that sometimes chokes his will. May he ride into the future brimming with focus, joy and confidence that allows him to manifest his skill and talent in his life's work continually for the years and decades ahead."
I am doing the OSA work right now, so I'll report back. I appreciate it!
