I didn't see that news actually! Town is still divided into the two camps: people (typically younger) who want to focus on the accident and people (typically older) who want to forget and move on. Oddly enough, there seem to be new people moving into town, though I don't have any sense of net numbers when considering people who have left. (Honestly, there's more talk about leaving than actual leaving, but that's been going on in small towns since forever). I was talking to my parents trying to figure out what would be attracting people. Social media is filled with people looking for apartments in EP; my dad has two rental units and has been able to get new tenants no problem. There's another person from town interested in expanding his business and buying my dad's property (he has a house that's an office on the first floor and two apartments above). It seems that people from elsewhere are now aware of EP as a small community that is within commuting distance of some larger areas and is, in comparison, pretty cheap? It's a bit odd. There is also a lot of scamming and fraud going on - people claiming EP residence, submitting false claims to the railroads.
I didn't get a chance to scope out any wildlife. Farm animals seem ok... My dad is a hunter and didn't mention anything either.
