I posted about this on Magic Monday so that more humans could see the message and my appreciation, but this is "Epileptic Doomer" officially saying you can take me off the prayer list.
I did, in fact, lose my job due to my medical condition. OTH, I have since then realized that keeping my job was incompatible with the prayer's request that I be able to live my best life. That place wasn't good for me. (I'm sorry I did not have the heart to provide the list with a negative update.)
My condition did not improve and I was eventually shuttled off to see a top-tier specialist late last week... which is where the real miracle happens. Every other doctor, it turns out, was wrong! My "epilepsy" was untreatable because it was not epilepsy at all! That very effectively answers my prayers to have fewer seizures, if they aren't really seizures, right? Even better, the illness I really have, Functional Neurological Disorder,seems to have more in common with PTSD or Panic Disorder--rather than dealing with a physical flaw in the brain, treatment seems to be about avoiding certain brain states that malfunction. (Which sounds like "changes in consciousness according to the will".) It will be some time before I can see a doctor who can deal with this new condition, but I am already doing better, just from the knowledge gained.
I would welcome additional prayers that I may heal enough to function fully in society as I navigate this new diagnosis, but as it stands? I could not be more grateful. I wish to offer my heartfelt thanks to all who offered prayers on my behalf, and to whatever aspect the divine you may have prayed to. May all of you be blessed as strongly as I have.
