By the way, apologies as it may have seemed that I brushed off your positive sentiment! It registered, and I get what you were saying, and indeed, that may be a good thing after all in the end. But this is a case where, speaking personally at least, it seems to me that a depressive energy in the town may be entirely meritied! Not because it's good to wallow in darkness; but rather because (depending on how bad the situation really is) any young or small people should *get out ASAP* if they haven't already, and sometimes a stark depressing reality will save lives or years of illness that pleasant whitewashing might bring.

Of course it is very hard to know for certain what level of positivity or depression is really merited; I'm just so worried for all the kids.
