I spoke with Erika by phone this morning and since she's hardly online right now, she hoped I could update you.
James's original tumors have been shrinking, but new ones have appeared (possibly a side effect of chemo), combined with other chaos, that I won't totally go into here, but that resulted in Erika being detained for four days in the midst of James's health crisis that had him incapacitated. Bureaucracy at every turn has made everything hundreds of times more difficult than it ought to be, and caused more suffering.
Perhaps, to stay succinct (ha!), prayers for the following could be offered on James and Erika's behalf:
May James's wishes be respected so he can return home. May he be blessed with divine healing energy to grant him strength and lead him to recovery. May Erika's service of love and care for James be strengthened and supported by all. May their hindrances be swept aside and may none harm them.
