James has been allowed to be transferred to hospice care, which is good because it gives everyone a reprieve from the doctors' hard-sell fear-powered pressure to engage in "solutions" like radiation and brain surgery. With this change, he is now mostly attended by a very good team of caring nurses.
Erika hopes that he can actually stay a bit longer in the hospital now that this dynamic has changed, sensing that it is conducive to healing in a way that wouldn't be possible in their small apartment under only her watch 24/7. At this point he doesn't seem to mind being there.
so, rewording the first two parts of the prayer request would be helpful, to simpler version like this:
May James's hospital stay bring him healing. May Erika's service of love and care for James be strengthened and supported by all. May their hindrances be swept aside and may none harm them.
