About two weeks after my last update, a passenger train on the same stretch of highway/track became entangled in overhead wires and somehow caused a brush fire beside the train. Thankfully, everyone was evacuated from the train without injury and the fire was put out without further damage to the lines or tracks.

That was the last fiery incident along those tracks that I have heard of. Hopefully whatever it was has worked itself out for the time being. I am so thankful for the prayers of everyone on this site; it may be that you guys helped calm the fires, or at least kept the injury count to zero after the first one.
