Prayer request

I’ve posted recently on JMG's forums about my sister’s medical and psychiatric situation, and I wish to make a prayer request about it.

My sister is suffering from hallucinations and delusions accompanied by extreme emotional distress. She hallucinates that there is blood on the walls, on the floor, on her hands, on her face, and all over her clothes, particularly items of intimate apparel. She believes that her presence in a building will destroy it, that because of her the house is tilting on its side, that her bed is sinking into the floor, and that we will all imminently die as a result.

Her yelling and screaming often goes on for hours and hours all day and all night. We share a small apartment with our very elderly mother and this makes our living situation absolutely horrible.

The root of these delusions appears to be a gynecological condition that should have been resolved many months ago and which causes occasional minor bleeding. This is untimely because she is over sixty. Every time such an incident occurs, it triggers a lengthy psychiatric episode.

My name is Kevin and my sister’s name is Cynthia. Our mother’s name is Dianne. I’m not sure how such a prayer might best be phrased, but I suppose you could try something like:

“May Kevin’s sister Cynthia be cured of the hallucinations and delusions that have afflicted her, and freed from emotional distress. May she be safely healed of the medical condition that has apparently provoked them.”

I will repeat a quote from Swedenborg that I feel may be relevant:

“ This is the cause of depressions with many, of mental debilitations and deviations, and of insanities and hallucinations. For when people are thus held fast in thought about spiritual matters, about the hereafter, about unhappy subjects, then spirits pour in many things of the people's personal concerns that are in their memory, and hold them fast in them to the point of insanity and fantasy. Those, therefore, who live in solitude easily fall into such states, which are normally dispelled by diversions and social activities.”

I do not know but I suspect that something like this maybe have happened to my sister - that she fell into a psychiatric condition by brooding excessively about a physical one that was not dealt with in a timely way.

We are of course trying to take the appropriate medical actions. But that is long slog.
