I've been having trouble finding a good phrasing for supporting Jessica in rising out of her current darkness, as I am not close to her or her situation and I don't know what she wants or needs. Depression is a complicated thing and sometimes it's a necessary thing. For now, I'm going to phrase it in the following general way:
"May Cliff's friend Jessica, who is suffering from severe postpartum depression, be blessed and soothed; may each day take her closer to an outlook of joyful participation in the world."
That said, if it seems appropriate, perhaps you could consult with Jessica, and ask her if she'd like to clarify exactly what she wants support with from our prayers.
