As I am an animist, I subscribe to the worldview that everything in the universe large and small has at least some level of awareness, though of course the levels and layers of consciousness and ability to make willful actions in the world vary enormously. Thus the idea that some cancers are malignant entities in the sense that they might have some kind of independent guiding intelligence is not one that I would reject a priori. Certainly, regardless of the ultimate truth, which is very difficult for us to know, it seems to me that approaching one's cancer as an external malignant entity might be a very pragmatic viewpoint. For one thing it allows communication with it; and again, even if the effects of this communication were "only" placebo, placebos are extremely effective. (And of course I suspect it wouldn't only be that.)
Good luck with both your upcoming surgery, and with the whole crazy East Palestine situation.
