I think I know, but I do not understand. The short version is that I believe this person to be projecting their own fears and worries onto us, and then convincing themselves that these fears and worries are true, and so attack us (or, at least, the distorted phantasms of us that they have created) in order to prevent the things they fear and worry about. This would fit all the information I have but makes little sense: I can understand believing somebody else's lies (since you might not know any better), but why would you believe your own?
