Hi, this is Merle Langlois, of Vancouver BC. I owe Revenue Canada a little over $1800 CAD in backed taxes from last year, and I'd like to request that people pray that I pay it off faster. At the current rate I should have it paid off by December, but I'm living poor in the process and can't have much fun that involves spending money. I also haven't been able to save during this time, and I always worry that putting extra money on my debt might somehow create a problem later if unexpected expenses come up. My job's accountant didn't deduct the proper amount of income taxes on many of my paycheques last year and I didn't look carefully and catch this mistake until I got hit with owing twice what I thought I would. I hate being in debt and I've never been in debt before. I also even owe my younger cousin $1000 but that is less of an issue. I have been living very frugally since April when I found out about this and making more than the minimum payment every month, and I cashed in a relatively worthless mutual fund that had been continually losing money and put it towards my taxes as well. I'd be willing to work a bit extra to pay it off faster, and I've already volunteered to work on one of my days off in August.

My request is something like, "may Merle be able to pay off his taxes sooner than December 2023," although you can word it how you like. Thanks Quin and everybody who prays here and posts here. I'll try to throw in for some people on this list.
