First, I wish to thank everyone who has helped pray for my deceased Uncle Bob, the courageous Gonzalo Lira and my kitty Maro. I think the former two have made the transition to their current existence successfully, and Maro is making good progress.
I have blocked off my kamidana until the 50th day following Maro's death. That is not requisite for a pet death, but he was more than a pet to us. Shortly after his death, I dreamt of him in a maze, but enjoying the adventure. A week later, I dreamt of him on the plain of infinite wisdom. A week after that, while engaging in misogi under a waterfall (the only sane place to be in this weather), my divination emphasized the east, where the quick earth solidifies--a human wind, and the north, which steels the earth and returns it--a black wind, which suggests he was already well underway in his journey to rebirth. It also emphasized "Hinomoto hitotsu" meaning Japan and "human harbor." It suggests he will become a human in Japan, which jives with his journey so far. He wanted to be a human in the life he just left, and Shinobu says he looked disappointed when he saw his relfection as a cat.
